Basically, we use RecordMyDesktop to record desktop screen. Today, I need to record video of Desktop screen. So, I tried to record video of the screen through RecordMyDesktop, Because I used it earlier with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. But now my Desktop environment is changed into GNOME. And previous Screen Recorder “RecordMyDesktop” did not work. I see video regarding this, how to record Desktop screen through “RecordMyDesktop” n GNOME. But that video did not give any benefit to me.
After this, I found the shortcut to record video of Desktop screen. you can follow following steps to record Desktop screen If “RecordMyDesktop” did not work in GNOME.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R to start recording what is on your screen.
A red circle is displayed in the top right corner of the screen when the recording is in progress.
- Once you have finished, press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R again to stop the recording.
- The video is automatically saved in your home, with a file name “Screencast” and includes the date and time it was taken.
